Haowei Technology recently launched a 50 million pixel CMOS image sensor OV50X for flagship smartphones.
With a 1-inch optical format and a 1.6-micron pixel size, the sensor achieves a single-exposure HDR of approximately 110 dB, the highest HDR performance in the mobile world.
Optimized for high-end devices, the OV50X sensor supports 4-cell binning technology, capable of outputting 12.5MP images at 180 fps, as well as three-channel HDR at 60 fps.
In addition, the sensor supports 8K video capture, dual analog gain (DAG) HDR, and in-sensor crop zoom.
The OV50X features TheiaCel technology for high dynamic range without multiple exposures for enhanced real-time preview and video quality, and 100% quad phase detection (QPD) coverage ensures fast, precise autofocus.
PureCel®Plus-S stacked technology improves low-light performance.
OMNIVISION TARGETS THE OV50X FOR USERS WITH A NEED FOR PROFESSIONAL-GRADE SMARTPHONE IMAGING, AND SAMPLES ARE CURRENTLY IN CIRCULATION, WITH VOLUME PRODUCTION EXPECTED TO BEGIN IN THE THIRD QUARTER OF 2025.
